Because Methodist Healthcare’s kiosks address the needs of two separate audiences, MontegoNet first developed a welcome screen that allows kiosk users to identify themselves as either hospital visitors or hospital employees. Hospital visitors are then directed to Methodist Healthcare’s web site and other visitor information. Hospital employees are prompted for their employee ID, and once entered, employees can access the hospital intranet, HR info & third-party benefits providers. Methodist Healthcare’s kiosks are equipped with proximity sensors, which automatically log employees out when they walk away, protecting their privacy.
